The River Dee Llangollen has a good range of shops, hairdressers, cafes, restaurants and public houses.

There are lots of walks within the beautiful countryside, including a part of Offa's Dyke Path and the Dee Valley Way. Horse Shoe Falls and Dinas Bran Castle are also delightful walks. There is a good children's play area in Riverside Park and nearby, in Wrexham there is a cinema and Techniquest--a children's science area.

Plas Newydd, the fascinating home of the Ladies of Llangollen, with its delightful gardens, makes an interesting afternoon visit. Nearby is Chirk Castle and the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the stream in the sky.

Further afield, Snowdon, Snowdonia and the north and west Wales coastal resorts are within a comfortable drive.
